Global Electronic Markets, Inc. specializes in helping organizations in the privately-negotiated financial derivatives industry to adopt FpML and related XML technologies, in order to speed processing, reduce errors and operational risk, and create new value-added business linkages.

In addition, our GEM Development unit develops a set of community source Products for working with FpML. These tools include:

  • FpML Mediator, an integrated product for validating, matching and reconciling FpML trades and portfolios.
  • GemScribe, an FpML viewer/editor, distributed through ISDA.
  • GEM Extractor, a tool for parsing DSWG format FpML files and extracting key business data into flat files.

Global Electronic Markets is managed by Brian Lynn, a founder of FpML.org and co-chair of the FpML Standards Committee (1999-2002), and a current editor of the FpML standard specification. Mr. Lynn was also formerly VP of eTrading Systems at JPMorgan, and Managing Director of Financial Products Technology at CIBC World Markets. Since 2010 GEM has been based in Toronto; prior to that GEM was based in New York. GEM's clients are world wide.
